The Lightsabre Interview Daniel Logan
Welcome to
Lightsabre. He’s the most lethal

your tail…and he’s portrayed by a great young actor. We present to you Daniel Logan. Q - Daniel, welcome
to Lightsabre. A - Thank you very much, glad to be here. Q – You’ve been in
episodes of Shortland Street, Tamota, Takapu, the short film Falling Sparrows
and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys but you are internationally best known
for your role as Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones. How exciting is that? A – It is very exciting. At the time I did not realize how big Star Wars was. But now I know. I am also very proud of working on the other productions you mentioned. The DVD set of Hercules Season 5 has just come out. I have not seen the episode I was in for a long time. It was fun seeing it again. Q – Tell us of your
experience working on Attack of the Clones, and what special memories have
stuck with you? A - Working on Attack of the Clones was a great experience. All the other actors and crew were great. It felt like a second home and family to me. One of my fondest memories is racing with Ewan on the golf carts around the lot. We kind of got into some trouble over it, but it was fun. Q - Tell us something
of your career. How did you begin in
entertainment and what led you to where you are today? A – How I got starting in acting was actually through rugby. At the age of 10, I was scouted by an agent for a commercial in New Zealand. From that one commercial I received other offers for commercials and TV shows. That is how my acting career began.
Q – What has it been
like to be a part of the Star Wars phenomenon? A-What can I say? Being a part of Star Wars is an experience that I will always appreciate and hold with the fondest of memories. Even to this day it is still strange to me to know that I am part of something so popular. I am very grateful to have been chosen to be a part of Star Wars. Q – By all accounts
your audition was a huge success, with you getting the role after a single
audition, beating out thousands of other kids eager to play Fett. How did that feel, and were you familiar
with the Boba Fett character before auditioning? A – I actually did not know who or what I was auditioning for. I just went in and spoke with the casting director, Robin Gurland. At that time, I actually thought I was going to be a Jedi. Now that I think back, I feel kind of foolish about the audition, because I got a stick she had in her office and starting twirling it around like a sword, pretending it was a lightsabre. I am glad that audition tape never made it out. Q – Boba Fett is,
after Darth Vader, probably the most popular Star Wars character. What is it
about Boba that has made him so popular and do you keep up with his exploits
in the novels, comics and other media? A – Q – A few years have
now passed since you played Boba, so now you are approaching adulthood how do
you reflect on your performance? A – Well, I do look back and see a few things that I might do different now. But as we get older, we learn and grow (and hopefully get a bit wiser) and of course we can look back at our past work and think we could have done better. That is what gaining experience and improving is all about. All in all, I am very happy with the performance I gave in Episode II. Q – Temuera Morrison
played Jango Fett, and through his portrayal it’s clear to see where Boba
gets his skills. What was it like
working so closely with such a talented actor? A – Working with Tem was a very good experience for me. I was in shock at first when I found out I was going to play his son in the movie. I watched him in “Once Were Warriors” and respected his acting abilities from that film, long before I worked with him. He taught me a lot and gave me advice. We still keep in touch, and I consider him a lifelong friend.
Q – There’s talk of a
Star Wars TV series. Now that you are
established as Boba Fett, would you be interested in portraying him again? A – Definitely I would. If I get the call to come back as Boba Fett for a TV series, I will be there (anyone at Lucasfilm listening? hint, hint). Q – Star Wars is such a phenomenon, one which has taken you
around the world to conventions and signings.
Do you enjoy this part of the Star Wars experience, and the
interaction with the fans? A – I really do enjoy meeting the fans. Everyone I have met has been very kind. I have been all over the world and seeing how far and wide Star Wars has reached is amazing. It is quite touching how gracious the fans are all over the world. I would like to say thanks to all the fans worldwide for all their support. Q – What was it like to be directed by George Lucas? A - Working with George Lucas was amazing. He has great vision and was very helpful with getting me into character. I did not realize, until after we were all done shooting, how much of a “legend” George actually is. He was just a regular guy. He ate breakfast and lunch with all of us. I am most impressed with his imagination and story telling ability. He has also assembled a great crew, all of whom worked together to make a great film. Q - What do you
foresee for yourself in the future? A – Q – A quick question
about our site, Lightsabre. Any
comments? A – Q - It's been a great
interview, and thanks for being our guest on Lightsabre. Just one final question. Boba Fett, Bossk, Dengar and Zuckuss are
stuck in a lift trying to think of a plan of escape. Bossk wants to eat everyone, Dengar is
still bugging Boba for being his best man, Zuckuss can’t get over being
called 4-Lom for twenty years and you can’t get your rocket pack to
work. How do you get out? A – Thanks for having me. I hope your readers enjoy my interview. As far as how would Boba get out… you can’t expect for me to give away ALL my secrets.
