>>>ilm has finally triumphed on oscar night.  after 13 years without the award, since forrest gump at the start of the digital age back in 1994, pirates of the caribbean: dead mans chest took home the oscar, beating out superman returns and fellow ilm effort poseidon. four time nominee john knoll, two timer hal hickel, three timer charles gibson and four timer allen hall collected the oscar for their efforts and ending a streak of unsuccessful nominations that controversially included independence day beating out twister, titanic sinking the lost world, the matrix putting a bullet the phantom menace and revenge of the sith not even being nominated.  congratulations to all involved, and thank you.

>>>star wars: the force unleashed is expanding.  news is filtering in that seems to suggest that the new lucasarts game, due november 2007, is just a part of a multimedia assault not seen since the days of shadows of the empiredel rey have announced a 304 page novel by force heretic author sean williams called fitting the force unleashed, to be released in hardback 24th september 2007, and insight editions release the 224 page  the force unleashed: art of the game by hayden blackman and brett rector. featuring pre-production art the book is due october 16th 2007.  but what else can we expect - a soundtrack album as we did with shadows?  a dark horse tie-in?  we know that hasbro are releasing figures, so what else is up lucas' sleeves?

>>>iesb have a great article with more news concerning the 2008 animated clone wars series.  it seems, according to john knoll, that production is gathering pace.  confirming the revelations by rob coleman earlier in the week it appears that clone wars is fully in production and that ilm are not, repeat not doing the visual effects.  lucas animation in singapore are carrying out that task, and may well do the same on the live action 2009 series.

Elderly judge of Amagadian descent who was in the pocket of the ganglord Glann Cipple.  A well-respected public servant, Tarainnew was the head of the Amagadian Chamber of Justice for over thirty years and was in charge of the polling during Cipples election battle with his employee Exxob, the actor who believed that he could win an election battle against the ganglord.  Tarainnew was found dead in his luxury estate on the side of Mount Fava on the morning of the election, and therefore was unable to affect the way of the vote in Cipples favour.
