>>>it was the ilm halloween party a couple of days ago and our good buddy bonnie burton sent us through this link to a whole batch of fun photo's of the night.  see how many familiar faces you can recognise, and enjoy bonnie looking immensely cool below.

miss burton looking rather devastatingly sophisticated...

>>>it looks like family guy will be opening it's season next year with an empire strikes back parody.  given the huge success of family guy: blue harvest, the odds are high on there being a follow up.  with the star wars based episode bringing in the highest ratings since the show relaunched back in 2005, and mila kunis - meg in the show - confirming a table reading of the empire script it's all but confirmed.  and with blue harvest likely being available on dvd january 15th 2008 it's a great time for star wars parody.

griffin the hutt...

>>>it's amazing where our name pops up.  why, just this morning we received an email from space centre at houston informing us that 'sts-120 continues its historic mission as star wars lightsaber soars on a six million mile journey'.  and my milometer says i've done less than 200 this week.  anyway, click here or on the image below for more news of this historical shuttle mission...

>>>many thanks to both our good friend gerald home and those fine folks at the force net for posting about our spaceport 2007 convention piece that we ourselves posted earlier this week.  always good to know that people enjoy our reporting and articles.
>>>amazing news is pouring in from france regarding both the live action and animated star wars television series.  during his chat with the audience, producer rick mccallum revealed a number of key points.  boba fett will play a pivotal role in the show among the many bounty hunters and, as Lightsabre revealed in an interview we conducted back in june 2005, he wants daniel logan to reprise his attack of the clones character.  the series will be shown on cable, enabling grittier storylines and is set for 100 episodes though mccallum hopes for that to grow to as many as 400.  those initial 100 episodes will feature all new characters mixed in with characters seen in the films - no expanded universe, although that may well change after those first 100.  in the real world, half a dozen screenwriters have been hired and start work in november.  with budgets set at between $1.7 to $2 million dollars, an average television episode budget, they hope to be able to recreate the look and feel of the films.  it's clear they are aiming for movie-level feel and quality in every episode.   mccallum hopes that john williams will be on board for the score, but it's too early in the day to confirm or deny that.  all amazing snippets of news.

lucas may dream it, but mccallum makes it happen...

>>>paul bateman is a great guy that we met at celebration europe.  an extra in big movies such as harry potter, eyes wide shut and gladiator, paul also works for ralph mcquarrie.  we had a chat with paul, and he gave us some fascinating insight into just how much mcquarrie star wars artwork is actually out there.  "much of the material i'm restoring - unfortunately no longer exists in any form other than a poor slide, transparency or reproduction. it takes work to get the stuff back to where it used to be. you'd be surprised the number of originals that used to vanish in the old days.  there's a ton of ralph's star wars art that has never seen the light of day, including paintings and doodles etc. ralph has always been a very prolific artist. if some piece of paper was lying around with space enough to scribble on he'd fill it. receipts, utilities, you name it he sketched on it.  ralph did lots of art for empire in particular. he drew many different versions of vader's castle, the rebel base etc.  i've always been so familiar with his work, long before i knew him i'd buy anything that had a new image by ralph inside, but now that i've seen the majority of his art: if i had to put a number to it i'd say the public has only seen a tenth of the star wars stuff he produced."  amazing information, and just imagine.  for the last thirty years we've only seen one out of every ten star wars sketches mcquarrie has produced.

>>>tina fey is best known to uk audiences for her new show 30 rock, which plays thursday nights at 10.40pm on five, but perhaps not everybody will know what a raging star wars fan she is.  our good pal bonnie burton over at the official star wars blogs posted a piece about tina and a saturday night live sketch that never quite materialised.  as tina says "you put that costume and that wig on and nerds go bananikers. people were just staring at me in the hall, all these extras and background people and nerds wanted to talk to me all the sudden. guys have a real weird thing for that outfit."  we're pretty sure guys would go bananikers for her in any costume, but click here and check out the full piece.

>>>indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull ended its principal photography this week - which as all fans of major motion pictures know means far from the end of actual shooting - with a scene shot at a 1950's mexican airport. george lucas and harrison ford were seen on set, along with 150 extras.  now the film enters the editing stage and will fall into the experienced hands of ilm to weave their magic.

>>>we continue our look at worlds of importance from the history of the setnin sector with cantarr bi romou, the world that hosted the largest of the sectors starports ...

cantarr bi romou

Standing on the edge of the Soluman Delta Gulf Cantarr Bi Romou is the site of one of the largest starports in the entire Setnin Sector.  Located in the city of Kansonn Velee, an ancient collection of building dating back to the Great Hyperspace War, the starport takes up most of the skyline and the shipyards were the first to mass-produce the famed Sunwing starfighter.  Glann Cipples agent Shoot Lafta was stationed in the city and liased with Cipples operatives as they pass through Cantarr Bi Romou on their way to the Soluman Delta Gulf.  Orbiting the star Romou Sol, Cantarr Bi Romou is a technically advanced world with high art and culture, which the Empire had occupied.  Commander Terrov was posted there for a brief while and it was on Cantarr Bi Romou that he abducted Tref Goodman, eventually murdering her and coming into contact with Goah Galletti for the first time
