A final word before hiatus…

mark newbold would like to say a few words…

It only seems like five minutes since the last time we had a break.  That was last year when myself, Mark (Jan Lomona and the Sirens of Amagad) Newbold and Paul (Frayed at the Edge) Squire flew off to Las Vegas for ten days to see Revenge of the Sith, leaving the site alone for the duration.

Well, a lot has happened in the seventeen months since then.  I've changed jobs, now working with Paul for a property development company, been in a car crash and published in issue 90 of the Insider.  But the biggest change is happening at 4pm on Wednesday 11th October when I marry the best thing that's ever happened to me, my beautiful Rebecca, at the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas.  Whoever said your life can change in an instant wasn't kidding - we only met in late March, and seven and a half months later we're walking down the aisle together.

Site contributor Jonathan Hicks is walking a similar path, meeting his now fiancé Lisa only a few months ago.  They are expecting their son Bruce in January, and marry on May 5th 2007 (if only it could have been May the 4th!)

When we return from Vegas we will hit the ground running with our Abel G Pena interview, more new Setnin Selects and new plans for the remainder of 2006 and beyond.  Our intention is to keep the site fresh with star interviews, new images and stories.

Since that break 17 months ago we’ve had the help of a number of people who have been invaluable to Lightsabre, so to them I say cheers :-

thanks to...
louis turfrey writer, technical advisor - lightsabre for being a great artist, our technical go-to guy, but most importantly his friendship

Enjoy October, keep reading through the site, there's plenty there and come back on Saturday 21st October for our Abel G Pena interview,

Clear skies,

Mark Newbold
