celebration europe - father and son

There are things that happen by design, and there is pure serendipity.  One such occasions was snapped by the Daily Mail as Dave Prowse - the original Darth Vader - and Mark Hamill - one of cinema's greatest heroes Luke Skywalker - met on the morning of the first day of Celebration Europe.
There couldn't possibly be a cooler venue for this reunion, the corridor of the Tantive IV, and so early on a fresh July 13th the two sci-fi icons sat down with a borrowed Artoo Detoo and began to reminisce...

  Friday 13th July

Barry Eldridge, Events Co-ordinator, Celebration Europe

Barry - "David Prowse and Mark Hamill, Star Wars Father and Son, re-united for a Daily Mail shoot on the morning of Friday 13th. The first time they had seen each other since Return Of The Jedi had wrapped..."

Barry - "Two of the finest gents ever! The wonderful David Prowse and the charming Mark Hamill. "
Barry - "Oliver Steeples of the R2 Builders chatting to Mark Hamill. Oliver lent us his half finished R2 Unit for the shoot, it was all that was available at such an early hour. Cheers Oliver."
Barry - "This was the first time Mark and David had been able to get together for a chat since they finished filming Return of The Jedi. It was a real honour to witness their reunion."
