Revenge of the Sith The circle is now complete Review by Mark Newbold
Ever wanted to control the destiny of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi? Well, now you can with the amazing Revenge of the Sith game. 17 levels of Clone Wars action, laced with 12 minutes of footage from the film give you control over the finale of Revenge of the Sith, and what a game it is.
Armed with your trusty Lightsabre, you are tasked with the job of bringing peace to the Republic - or alternatively bringing an end to the Jedi Order and bonus missions allow even more interaction with such notorious characters as General Grievous, Yoda and Darth Vader himself. Following the basic plot of the movie, you have a thread of missions to complete, from rescuing Chancellor Palpatine from the clutches of Count Dooku to Yoda and Obi-Wans infiltration of the Jedi Temple. Order 66 plays a large part in the game, and is expanded to allow many more Jedi to be slaughtered. Playing as Anakin you objectives are clearly to cause as much mayhem as possible.
An obvious omission from the game is Padme, who is barely mentioned at all, and the game also focuses on the death of Jocasta Nu by Vader in a gruesome death scene but a fantastic fact is the close involvement of two of the films most important people, Hayden Christensen and Nick Gillard who worked closely alongside the game developers to perfect both Anakins character and the fight sequences as a whole.
As movie adaptations go this is a solid effort, the game being largely limited by the confines of the movies storyline, and repeat play is less likely than a standard Star Wars game, especially once the film is sitting on people's shelves in a few months time. But once again Lucasfilm have overseen a top game, and for that they should be commended.
