>>>some very cool d6 roleplay information comes our way from d6 editor jonathan hicks.

"the star wars d6 system is getting some fresh attention at a specially created fan forum for west end games called www.wegfanforums.com, where a dedicated d6 section keeps the system alive and a star wars topic, the tales of the rampant runner, enables players to get directly involved.
it's regularly updated and there are plenty of visitors keeping the faith."

>>>jonathan hicks brings us news of his new roleplay venture.  over to jonathan.
"there has been an increasing trend recently in one-shot gaming, the desire to run a simple, one-off game so that minimal effort can be put into creation, a game is needed at a moment's notice or there's a lull between major campaigns. this is where these games come in - initially, they can be downloaded, printed off, learned and be ready to run in an hour. later adventures can be downloaded, printed off and ready to go in minutes."
sounds fascinating, and you will learn a lot more by visiting the farsight games site, navigating through the still under construction site, bookmarking it and visiting it again in the not too distant future...

>>>back in the day there was a production company called newbold hicks productions.  they made star wars audio dramas earlier than most and formed the core of what is now on the Lightsabre site.
today nhp returns to present this tribute to our friend and artist jason brown, who's amazing artwork has continually inspired us to make our stories and our site better and better.
thanks to
jonathan hicks for his sterling work on this montage.

>>>co-founder of Lightsabre and former roleplay editor jonathan hicks brings us some very interesting news regarding the d6 system.  over to jon.
   "
company owner eric gibson has publicly announced that west end games (weg), the publisher responsible for such roleplaying titles as paranoiaghostbusters and, most importantly, the original star wars - the roleplaying game, is up for sale and is accepting bids.  details of the proposed sale can be found at www.westendgames.com.
weg originally shot to fame in 1987 with the highly successful and acclaimed star wars - the roleplaying game.  the game was supported and circulated for more than ten years and was so well received that the designs and creations were the seeds of the expanded universe.  when the license wasn't renewed weg slowly reduced in size and changed hands until it was finally bought by eric gibson.  the d6 system was going to be given a new lease of life with the release of the game septimus, created by industry name bill coffin, but last minute problems cancelled the project and, with no other new releases or product, that pretty much finished weg
weg's properties include the d6 system, shatterzonetorgbloodshadows and the game junta, amongst others, and it is not known whether the properties will be sold in bulk or as separate entities.  what is clear is that mr gibson intends for the properties to live on, to quote mr gibson, "if I thought for a moment that d6 or any other property were going to 'die', i'd never let that happen."
we would like to wish eric gibson all the best for the future and fervently hope that the name of weg never dies as the original d6 star wars holds a special place in many roleplayer's hearts and is still played worldwide even today, even after the release of the d20 version."
thanks for the report
jon, great to see you here on the site again.  keep an eye on our roleplay section for more news regarding west end games.

brings back good memories...
