AGE OF MYTHOLOGY ERA The first era of Chatroot and the
Howlrunners, the initial stirrings of the underworld and the expansion
that led to the establishment of what was later to become known as the Setnin
Sector... 7 500 000 000 years before Battle of Yavin CREATION OF THE GALAXY -
The galaxy is formed by the
gravitational collapse of a large cloud of dust and gas. With
approximately 400,000,000,000 stars in the galaxy, around half of these have
planets that support some form of life; ten percent of which develop life on
their own, and one in a thousand of these worlds develop sentient beings. 20
million forms of sentient life ultimately populate the galaxy. 4 000 000 000 years before Battle of Yavin FIRST SETNIN STARS COALESCE -
The first star in what will become the Setnin Sector
begins to form. That star is Bedoah,
and in later years it will be circled by the world of Bedois, later to be
renamed Alganar III. 999 989 years before Battle of Yavin -
The Point at which xenoarchaeologists and
xenoanthropologists estimate the majority of the known galaxy begins keeping
detailed historical records, though items from this time period tend to prove
indecipherable to later historians. 900 000 years before Battle of Yavin THE WAR OF THE GODS -
The mythological War of the
Gods begins, pitting many higher
forces against each other in a conflict that lasts almost half a million
years. Two brothers stand victorious
after the carnage and are given the chance to relinquish their higher powers and
live as men, therefore banishing gods
altogether. One brother chooses to
become mortal, the other to retain his powers. Knowing that a force of good required a
force of evil to balance it out, one brother descends to hell and becomes
known as The Dark One, the other remains in the real world and is known as
the first Setnin god. -
Gabearren is born, first son of the first Setnin god. -
Bennaren, the second son of the first Setnin god is
born. Both brothers are natural
warriors and fight to preserve the honour of their father. 600 000 years before Battle of Yavin THE FIRST GREAT WAR -
The forces of The Dark One fight to reclaim the worlds they lost. -
The forces of The Dark One capture Gabearren and torture him, severing his wings and
torturing him to death. -
During the fighting, Vagra the Dwarf is killed and his soul sent to the abyss. -
The first Setnin god is too clever and traps his
evil brother in the seven pits of the abyss. 500 000 years before Battle of Yavin -
Desperate to gain favour with his father, Bennaren decides
to travel to the abyss to save the soul of his lost brother Gabearren. 500,000 BBY-Fates and Balances 499 995 years before Battle of Yavin -
The first Setnin God departs to a higher plane, angered by his
inability to no longer influence the lives of Setnin’s population. His son Bennaren leaves with him. 499 989 years before Battle of Yavin - The approximate point at which xenoarchaeologists and xenoanthropologists estimate the majority of historical records for the galaxy begin being written in forms that will be decipherable in the era of the Republic. As such, the War of the Gods is lost to the mists of time and mythology. 200 000 years before Battle of Yavin -
The world of Escall develops its earliest cities and cultures as its
humanoid inhabitants begin building their first civilisation. 180 700 years before
Battle of Yavin -
On the planet known as Setnin, its people begin their first belief
system, a spiritual enlightenment that runs parallel with their passive ways. 24 050 years before Battle of Yavin FIRST HYPERDRIVE
BUILT ON COMMODOR -
The native inhabitants of Commodor design and test the first hyperdrives
built within the region of space later to be known as the Setnin Sector. A small, tightly knit community, these
natives welcome the massive planetary expansion and development that will

The denizens of the Setnin Sector begin to explore and expand their
horizons, reaching out into the stars and start to colonise the Setnin

THE GREAT
SCHISM - LIGHTSIDE DARKSIDE WAR RAGES THROUGH GALAXY
-
Setnin is engulfed in the war raging between the forces of the light side of
the force and the dark, led by a rogue Jedi named Xendor. Countless worlds fall, and countless
millions are killed in the war. 24 400 years before
Battle of Yavin GOLDEN AGE OF THE
SITH -
After a century of battle, the Dark Jedi are exiled and eventually take
over the Sith civilisation, building it into
an empire, and bringing about the Golden Age of the Sith. -
The Republic grows complacent, believing the Dark Side has been
defeated. Among the many Jedi
literature and traditions of this period is the prophecy of the one who will
bring balance to the Force and heal the schism. -
During this time, the fallen dark Jedi begin experimenting on their
subjects, converting many Sith into deadly Massassi warriors. 24 000 years before
Battle of Yavin FORMATION OF THE JEDI
KNIGHTS -
The Jedi decide to take a more active role in
galactic society, using the Force to aid in peace, justice, and order. Operating out of the Judicial Department
under the office of the Supreme Chancellor, the Jedi gradually evolve from
mere scholars and magicians to organized guardians of peace and justice. -
After facing threats such as the Dark Jedi Schism, the Jedi Knights are
formally established. They battle
interplanetary criminals and settle cosmic disputes, becoming legendary
throughout the galaxy. The deeds of the
Jedi become famous. Aided by the Force, they come to be respected and honoured throughout the galaxy. They are known as scholars, warriors, and
philosophers. They are all these
things – and much more. The Jedi
spread throughout the galaxy, protecting the Republic and watching over its
many systems. 22 000 years before
Battle of Yavin FIRST JEDI KNIGHTS IN
SETNIN -
Ever expanding and developing, the Setnin Sector is covered by its first
Jedi Knights, who roam the sector and the Mid-Rim fighting injustice and
tyranny under the wider auspices of the Supreme Chancellor and the
Republic. The Jedi Order is a loosely
knit group. Individual Jedi Masters run schools in which they teach several
students at a time, while numerous Jedi wander the galaxy by themselves. Planetary governments are free to ask
individual Jedi for help, but the Jedi are not bound by law to do so. 15 000 years before
Battle of Yavin THE GOLDEN AGE -
The Golden Age begins, a period of unrivalled peace and prosperity in the galaxy.
It lasts until around a century before the Battle of Yavin. 9990 years before
Battle of Yavin CREATION OF THE
LIGHTSABRE -
The first lightsabres are created, later to become known as archaic lightsabres. Unlike the later weapons of the Jedi
Knights, the archaic lightsabre was designed as a siege weapon. Using frozen
blaster technology, these lightsabres required a separate power pack worn on
the back. Knowing that laser and
blaster weapons could produce coherent bolts of light and energy, the ancient
Jedi hoped to freeze the energy into a solid blade. These early Lightsabres
required tremendous amounts of power, which could only be provided by
dedicated generators. Eventually the
Jedi were able to miniaturize the components used in the construction of
lightsabres, most notably the power source, to create the simple weapon known
to beings of the modern era. 9580 years before
Battle of Yavin FIRST KI-KI SECTOR
CIVIL WAR -
The Ki-Ki Sector is nothing but a smattering of warring planets.
A devastating eight-year war erupts, costing millions of lives. 9500 years before
Battle of Yavin -
Ki-Ki Sector leaders finally resolve their differences by
trying to evenly divide territory and power. This proves to be a disaster as all the leaders wish to control the new
sector of space. FEDARN BECOMES
CAPITAL OF KI-KI SECTOR -
Lords of each world gather to resolve the problem
but are assassinated by the leader of the planet Fedarn, who declares himself
Prime Lord and takes over the worlds. 7000 years
before Battle of Yavin
THE HUNDRED YEARS
DARKNESS -
A devastating war between the forces of the dark and light sides of the force
begins, ending a century later 6000 years before Battle of Yavin APEX OF THE SITH -
After thousand of years of conquest, subjugating as many worlds as
possible and avoiding Republic worlds, the Sith Empire reaches the apex of
its territory and power. With no more
enemies to battle, Sith Lords fight each other. For the next millennium, the Sith drive themselves and their empire to the brink of
self-destruction. 5400 years before Battle of Yavin BIRTH OF CHATROOT -
Chatroot is born on
the world of Yuma. Of the Keleferon
species, his birth is heralded by great reverence – only one Keleferon is
born on Yuma each generation. 5380 years before Battle of Yavin -
Matured and
prepared for adulthood, Chatroot leaves Yuma and travels into the galaxy,
believing himself to be a man of destiny and vision. 5330 years before Battle of Yavin CHATROOTS FIRST HIBERNATION -
After fifty years
of travelling the known galaxy and amassing knowledge, Chatroot enters a
period of extended hibernation sleep.
During this sleep his mind is still active – collating and analysing
the knowledge he has collected. 5310 years before Battle of Yavin -
Chatroot emerges
from his twenty-year long hibernation.
In his slumber he has realised that people and worlds are not governed
by others but by subterfuge and guile.
He determines to do much the same -
Straight away he
embarks upon finding other like-minded individuals who are highly intelligent
and have been in positions of influential power. 5302 years before Battle of Yavin CHATROOT GATHERS THE FIRST HOWLRUNNERS -
Chatroot completes
the recruitment of his first team of Howlrunners
and begins a career of smuggling, racketeering and profit making to work the
underworld from every conceivable angle and work his way up. 5301 years before Battle of Yavin -
The Salura Star, the
most powerful starship in that region of space, is designed and built for
Chatroot and his Howlrunners. 5300 years before Battle of Yavin FIRST APPEARANCE OF THE SALURA STAR -
The Salura Star appears for the first time in what will later be
known as the Setnin Sector. 5290 years before
Battle of Yavin -
Foron becomes the first Emperor Priest of Escall. 5288 years before
Battle of Yavin CHATROOT KILLS HIS
HOWLRUNNERS -
Motivated by greed and avarice, Chatroot has his Howlrunners
assassinated when they begin to learn how much wealth and knowledge he has
acquired. He realises the flaw in his logic – those that he recruited were as
intelligent and world-wise as himself. -
Only one of his six-man team survives – Longbody, the one member of the
team with as much guile and cunning as Chatroot. 5287 years
before Battle of Yavin
CONSTRUCTION
OF THE SALURA CHILD
-
Realising his need for assistance, Chatroot has a powerful droid constructed to
help him maintain his operations and his good name. Designated the Salura Child its primary
function is to protect and serve Chatroot – a mission that it carried out to
perfection. 5286 years
before Battle of Yavin
CHATROOT ENTERS
SECOND HIBERNATION -
Protected by his newly built droid the Salura Child he enters a second period
of hibernation and ponders on his mistakes. 5280 years
before Battle of Yavin

The planet Kaal
is renamed Foron after Emperor Priest Foron who
masterminded its invasion and capture. 5276 years
before Battle of Yavin

Chatroot emerges from his second hibernation and immediately embarks on
recruiting a second team of Howlrunners, this time making certain that they
work for rather than with him. Also,
he has a secret agenda – one that he keeps hidden from his team. 5274 years
before Battle of Yavin

HOWLRUNNERS ARE RECRUITED

Chatroot completes his search for six new Howlrunners. 5270 years before
Battle of Yavin EMPEROR
PRIEST FORON JOINS THE HOWLRUNNERS
-
Emperor Priest Foron, the first Emperor Priest, is buried alive with his courtiers,
following the ancient traditions of the early Escall religions. While
waiting for death he is visited by Chatroot, who offers him a new, better
destiny – becoming a Howlrunner. Foron
accepts. 5269 years before
Battle of Yavin CHATROOTS THIRD
HIBERNATION -
Chatroot procures hibernation technology, allowing himself and Foron to enter
a period of extended sleep. 5179 years before
Battle of Yavin -
Chatroot and Foron re emerge from their hibernation and begin their
mission to gain influence and power in the region. -
Chatroot recruits three more Howlrunners, men and women of influence. 5112 years before Battle
of Yavin CHATROOT
ASSUMES CONTROL OF THE UNDERWORLD

Elevated to a position of influence and power, Chatroot becomes the first true
ganglord of this region of space. From
the edge of the Soluman Delta Gulf to the world of Drono and every planet in
between, his influence is felt. 5090 years
before Battle of Yavin

Chatroot places his Howlrunners in positions of power and his droid the
Saluras Child to watch over them. 5070 years before
Battle of Yavin CHATROOTS
FOURTH HIBERNATION
-
In order to prolong his lifespan Chatroot re-enters hibernation for the
fourth time. 5000 years before
Battle of Yavin CONSTRUCTION OF THE
HEED BEGINS -
The natives of Escall begin construction on a massive warship. Utilising ores and materials from their own
world they power it with the explosive jewel found deep within the core of
Escall. 4900 years before
Battle of Yavin -
Ancient Zelonians hold their first markets in the valley enclosed by the Tuca Mountains
near the Mutumbarr Lake on Zelon. Four
thousand one hundred years later this site will become the sprawling Trade
Centre known as Chancai, although other markets and structures will occupy
the space in the years between. 4800 years before
Battle of Yavin -
The eighth attempt at building their great starship is finally a
success. Named the Heed, this vessel
held the capability of destroying worlds and in the wrong hands could wreak
havoc on a vast expanse of space. 4750 years before
Battle of Yavin ESCALL
INVADES THE PLANET SETNIN
-
The inhabitants of the world of Escall, fearful of their world’s
destruction after centuries of mining its explosive, jewelled core, decide to
invade the world of Setnin, a world with the same explosive core and a
passive populace ripe for conquering. -
After a brief and bloody invasion the planet Setnin is conquered and its
population practically wiped out. Only
a few hundred make it out alive, and those that do leave behind hieroglyphics
depicting the destruction of their people by the invading forces of the
Escallians. PLANET
SETNIN RENAMED JANOS
-
Claiming the world of Setnin as their own, the invading forces of Escall
rename their newly taken world Janos.
Much like on their original home planet they begin to build temples
and great structures, and mine for the precious explosive jewel held within
the planet, which they christen Janos Jewel. CHATROOT
EMERGES FROM HIBERNATION
-
Chatroot comes out of his extended hibernation, a
period of three hundred and twenty years.
In his absence the Howlrunners have replenished their numbers with new
recruits and as such they have awaited his return. -
Chatroot saves a ship of refugees from an attacking
hoard of bandits and pirates. These
refugees thank Chatroot for his help and make their way to the world of
Ferrerea, where they hone their skills and set aside their passive ways. Eventually they evolve into the deadly
Ferrerean Warriors. 4748 years before
Battle of Yavin CHATROOT TAKES
CONTROL OF THE FIRST WORLDS -
After only being out of hibernation for two years and already a legend for
his heroic actions, Chatroot is elevated to the position of leader of the
First Worlds, a coalition of the six main planets in the sector: Krider,
Wennicas, Yuma, Lydon, Maquina and Koretz.
He swears to calm the Setnin/Janos situation and restore peace to the
region. -
Koretz, along with a number of other worlds, stand against Chatroots rallying
cry. Angered, he warns them against
this defiant action, stating that any world that was against him was against
the First Worlds. DESTRUCTION
OF KORETZ
-
Accepting the Heed from the Janites, who hand it over for his unlimited use,
Chatroot journeys to Koretz. Knowing
that its core was packed with the explosive Janos Jewel he strikes,
destroying the planet and sending a message to any others who would oppose
him – do so at your peril. 4720 years before
Battle of Yavin CHATROOT ENTERS FIFTH
HIBERNATION -
Chatroot enters his fifth hibernation, leaving strict instructions for the
ancestors of his Howlrunners that he should only be awakened when he is
sorely needed. 4700 years before
Battle of Yavin FORMATION OF THE
FIRST JEDI COUNCIL -
Upon learning that the Sith are in fact an
outgrowth of their own order, the Jedi establish a loose hierarchy. Respected Jedi Knights begin to meet in an
assembly on Coruscant to discuss various threats to the Republic and ways to
counter them. 4120 years before
Battle of Yavin THE HEED IS LOST -
The Heed develops a technical fault whilst in orbit of the planet Foron and is
rendered useless and unsalvageable when an energy burst creates what becomes
known as the Foron Dustcloud. 4000 years before
Battle of Yavin 4000-BBY-The Belief System FIRST
HUMANS SETTLE IN SETNIN SECTOR
-
The Colony Ship Horizons End settles upon the first planet in what will later be known as the Setnin
Sector. The planet is later named
after that vessels captain - Trefnare. 3880 years before
Battle of Yavin THE HUMAN EXPANSION
PERIOD -
The Human Expansion through the region spreads like wildfire, with human colonists
occupying practically every world in the sector. At this time A-desando, Halando and Amagad
all become prime locations for human colonisation, driving the native
populations into the forests and deserts of their worlds. 3750 years before
Battle of Yavin -
Humans take Zelon, a world in the centre of what will become the
Setnin Sector. Given its prime
location along the newly mapped space lanes it assumes great importance as a
site for trade and industry. 3625 years before
Battle of Yavin -
The Niekon Tribe of the Tuca Mountains on Zelon are first encountered and forced to
relocate from their ancient burial sites and holy lands as the human
colonists push through the forests and begin their own early settlements. 3500 years before
Battle of Yavin REPUBLIC
SURVEY CORPS MAPS AND NAMES SETNIN SECTOR

The Republic Survey Corp officially recognises, catalogues and
marks out the borders of this large expanse of the Mid-Rim, naming it the
Setnin Sector and adding it to official starmaps and gazetteers. CHATROOT
EMERGES FROM FIFTH HIBERNATION
-
As instructed, the Howlrunners awaken their leader from a hibernation
sleep of one thousand two hundred and twenty years. Worried that the Republic will take the
now-called Setnin Sector and subsume it into the greater Galactic Republic,
they call on their leader to continue the independence that the region has
enjoyed. -
Without the leverage of the Heed, Chatroot realises that he won’t be able to
oust the Republic from Setnin space. 3450 years before
Battle of Yavin SETNIN SECTOR BECOMES
PART OF THE REPUBLIC -
Against the general wishes of the populace, but with the grudging acceptance
of planetary ruling councils, the Republic takes the Setnin Sector and most
of her worlds into the open arms of the Republic. Senators are chosen to represent Setnin systems
on Coruscant and speak for the independently minded sector in a relationship
that will last 3418 years. -
Biding his time, Chatroot consolidates his reputation as a hero in order to
gain the trust and respect of the expanding and increasingly human populated
Setnin Sector. 3300 years before
Battle of Yavin DISAPPEARANCE OF
CHATROOT AND THE HOWLRUNNERS -
After two thousand years of
protecting the sector from outside influences, the Salura Star enters the
Soluman Delta Gulf and is not seen for thirty-three centuries – the details
of her disappearance remain a mystery.
